Harrods is selling pots of Life Mel honey for $83 in their pharmacy department, due to the healthy benefits that honey supposedly has.

$6.98 Million for a Home in Sweden

The most expensive home sale in Sweden for the year went for $6.98 million, and was purchased by Russian businessman, Alexander Izosimov, CEO of Vimpelcom. This home price is of course far lower than top prices in other countries, especially the United States, where many homes in California and New York sell for in excess of that amount.

Gold Leggings $159,000

Fashion designer, Nicolas Ghesquière, has come out with plastic dresses and futuristic gold leggings with a robot-like look. These beautiful golden leggings can be picked up for only $159,000.

Magna Carta Hammered at $21.3 Million

Sotheby's auctioned off a 710-year-old copy of the Magna Carta on Tuesday, which went for $21.3 million. This rare document was sold by The Perot Foundation, created by billionaire Ross Perot and was purchased by David Rubenstein, founder of The Carlyle Group. It is considered to be one of the most important documents in the world.

Miro Painting Sets New Record

A painting by Joan Miro, the Spanish artist, just sold for $16.7 million at an auction in Paris, an all time record for Miro. The painting is "Blue Star" from 1927.

Knight Rider Car Auction Halted Temporarily

An original an original KITT talking car, a black 1984 Pontiac Trans Am, from the Knight Rider TV show starring David Hasselhoff had been up for auction on eBay. However, the attorney who was handling the sale was so inundated with requests for more information that he has decided to postpone the auction.

The car was owned by Andrew Kissel who was suspiciously murderedlast year and the case still hasn't been solved. Kissel has an extensive collection of boats and cars.

The high price on eBay when the auction was pulled was $40,100. It is expected to be reauctioned next month.

Rare Russian Eggs to be Sold

Some rare Russian eggs will be sold at auction by Heritage Auction Galleries on April 24, in Dallas, Texas. One of the items is a Russian Empress Alexandra Imperial Porcelain Easter Egg with an estimate of $25,000 to $35,000. Another item being offered in this Royal Artifact auction is an Imperial Russian Faberge Alexander III Twenty-fifth Wedding Anniversary Presentation Heart Shaped Desk Clock with an estimate of $300,000 to $500,000.

$48,000 for John Lennon's Hair

$48,000 was the hammer price of a lock of hair from Beatle John Lennon. It cane with an autographed book of Lennon. The sale price grossly exceeded the high estimate for the hair of $6,000. The buyers name was not disclosed.

A couple days ago, I wrote about a liquor auction in New York, the first since Prohibition. The results of the auction are in and the 1926 bottle of Macallan scotch which was expected to sell for as much as $30,000, ended up selling for $54,000.

First NY Liquor Auction since Prohibition

Christie's is holding an upcoming liquor auction in New York, the first since Prohibition. One of the highlights is a 1926 bottle of Macallan scotch which is expected to sell for as much as $30,000 and a bottle of straight rye whiskey using George Washington's recipe for $20,000. There are also plenty of 'cheap' bottle that will be auctions for an estimated price of $300.

$57 Million for a Sculpture

A 5,000 year old Mesopotamian sculpture sold at auction for $57 million, breaking a world record for sculptures and a world record for antiquities. It was purchased by an anonymous British buyer. The sculpture, called the Guennol Lioness, is less than four inches high and features a lioness looking over her left shoulder.

Oldest Rolls Royce Car $7.22 million

A 1904 Rolls Royce automobile, the oldest known Rolls still in existence, sold for $7.22 million at an auction, at a starting bid of 1 million British pounds. It is the highest price paid for a Rolls Royce and the highest price paid for an automobile made before 1905. The Rolls Royce was purchased by a collector in the United Kingdom.

$330,000 for a Giant Truffle

A giant truffle, weighing 3.3 pounds, was auctioned off for $330,000. The truffle was sold at an auction at the Grand Lisboa Hotel in Macau. This type of mushroom is considered a delicacy. Proceeds from the auction went to charities in Macau, London, and Italy.

$800,000 Osbourne 'Garage Sale'

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne had a giant 'garage sale', raising about $800,000 for the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The items were sold by Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills.
