The $100 Million Dollar Bonus
Andrew J. Hall, at the commodities trading firm Philbro, is entitled to a $100 million bonus due to his successful trading in oil . However, there may be an issue with him getting paid, since his contract is with Citigroup (C) which trades on the NYSE, a bank that has received government bailout funds. This in spite of the fact that he generated $2 billion in trading profits for Citigroup over the last five years. During the 1970's, Philbro was where Marc Rich worked, the billionaire who was pardoned by President Bill Clinton.
