The $100 Million Dollar Bonus
Andrew J. Hall, at the commodities trading firm Philbro, is entitled to a $100 million bonus due to his successful trading in oil. However, there may be an issue with him getting paid, since his contract is with Citigroup (C) which trades on the NYSE, a bank that has received government bailout funds. This in spite of the fact that he generated $2 billion in trading profits for Citigroup over the last five years. During the 1970's, Philbro was where Marc Rich worked, the billionaire who was pardoned by President Bill Clinton.
