Dress Sold for $4.6 Million: It Belonged to Marilyn Monroe

Do you remember the dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in 'The Seven Year Itch' when she was standing over a grate on the sidewalk with air blowing up under her? That dress just sold for $4.6 million at the Profiles in History auction house. Actually, the total cost to the buyer was $5,520,000 with auction fees. The dress was consigned by actress Debbie Reynolds, along with numerous other Hollywood collectible memorabilia items.

Total amount raised in the auction was $22.8 million. If you feel bad about missing out, they will be more memorabilia auctioned off in December of this year.
