Do You Play the Guitar? Why Not Play Tom Petty's Guitar

Tom Petty's stage-played 1965 Gibson SG Cherry Electric Guitar and hat worn on stage and in Traveling Wilburys Music Videos is up for auction in a Heritage Auction of Entertainment and Music Memorabilia.

The guitar has been signed "Tom Petty / '88" in silver paint, and includes an 8" x 10" black and white glossy photo of Bob Dylan and Tom Petty on stage with this guitar. It also includes the  hard guitar case.

The other item in the lot is a custom-made brown felt hat, which is size 7 1/4 from Baron California Hats, that was worn by Tom Petty on stage.

There is no reserve on this auction, however, the starting bid is $150,000, or with the buyer's premium, $187,500.
