$1,000,000 for a Superman Comic
Last week, we posted an article about how an early Batman comic was up for auction and had reached a bid of $350,000. The bid is now up to $425,000 and there are still two more days to go before the auction closes.
However, this amount isn't even close to the first Superman comic that just sold for $1,000,000; that's one million dollars!!! It is technically Action Comics #1, the first comic book in which Superman appeared. It was graded 8 on a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is the best. It came out in 1938 for 10 cents. The buyer and seller remain anonymous.
According to the company that handled the transaction, CommicConnect.com, this is the first time a comic has ever sold for one million dollars.
