Elvis Hair Sold for Over $18,000
If you missed out on the auction of Elvis Presley's hair, you might be surprised to know that the big hunk of hair, more than just a lock, sold for $18,300 including buyer's premium, while it had an estimate of $8,000 to $12,000.
Some of the other high priced items in the Leslie Hindman Auctioneers auction of Elvis memorabilia include an EP Monogrammed Cream Collared Cotton Shirt worn by Elvis which was hammered at $62,800 (estimate of $2,000 and $4,000), an ultrasuede red shirt worn by Elvis which went for $34,000, and a 1960 Inscribed Elvis Presley Picture Sleeve which went for $10,370. A photo album of original photographs of Elvis Presley also sold for $7,930, and an Original 1954 Elvis Presley Sun Records Thats All Right 78rpm Single.
