$4.2 Million for the Original Batmobile

At a recent Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, the original Batmobile was sold for $4.2 million, plus another $420,000 in buyer's premiums. It was used in the original TV show from 1966 to 1968, has a V-8 engine, push-button transmission, car phone, and rear parachutes.

It was purchased by a wealthy Arizona collector who is a big fan of Batman collectibles.
