Pink Star Diamond Sold for $83,000,000

The Pink Star diamond is a 59.60 carat gem that measures 1.06 inches by 0.81 inches. It just sold for $83,000,000 including buyer's commission. It was sold in a Sotheby's auction in Geneva, Switzerland to a New York diamond cutter.

This is the highest price ever paid for a diamond, setting a world's record.
