World's Second Largest Diamond Sells for $53 Million
Wouldn't this look great on an engagement ring?
The Lesedi La Rona 1,109-carat uncut diamond sold for $53 million. It was sold by Lucara Diamond, a Canadian mining company to Graff Diamonds, a jewelry company in Great Britain.
Last year, there was an attempted sale of the diamond through a Sotheby's auction with a $70 million reserve price that wasn't achieved.
To give you an idea about the size of the diamond, it is as big as a tennis ball.
