This Supposedly Modern Art Sold for Almost $50,000,000

The above painting recently sold in a Christie's auction in New York City for $46,437,500. What a bargain.

The “neo-expressionism” artwork was created by Cy Twombly in 2005 and was referred to as “the largest example from Cy Twombly’s legendary Bacchus series.”

The painting seemed to overshadow a painting by Leonardo de Vinci, “Christ as Salvator Mundi” which was hammered at more than $450 million dollars
