First NY Liquor Auction since Prohibition
Christie's is holding an upcoming liquor auction in New York, the first since Prohibition. One of the highlights is a 1926 bottle of Macallan scotch which is expected to sell for as much as $30,000 and a bottle of straight rye whiskey using George Washington's recipe for $20,000. There are also plenty of 'cheap' bottle that will be auctions for an estimated price of $300.
